No single author has any concrete obligation to their project (except for the ones taking enough donations to make it a job) so complaining that addons don’t get updated is just as entitled as a soccer mom yelling for the manager of a hotdog stand. Life changes, other entertainment happens, burnout, hobby shift, you name it.
Just like any other player, authors leave. The vast majority of addons are made out of the hobby aspect of coding with a tiny handful growing to the point where some authors can actually devote decent time to them.
